Rulings - decrees

Since 1st January 2011, local councils, EPCI (French inter-regional municipal associations) and development associations are required to put new measures on record keeping into practice. Towns with more than 1000 inhabitants and public institutions must bind the registers of administrative acts every year. Towns or villages with less than 1000 inhabitants must bind the registers at least every 5 years. Binding is there to protect these documents which are essential to our daily lives. The binding ensures an incomparable strength and guarantees a better preservation over time. It contains metallic elements which do not necessarily age well and which don't offer sufficient guarantee of the registers remaining intact.
